Bryn... didn't get out much. It was in part because he had the social skills of a shut in, but also the fact that "getting out" generally involved copious amounts of sunlight. Bryn and sunlight was never a good mix considering the sort of reactions he had when exposed to UV radiation from the burning death orb in the sky. If it was cloudy he might be lucky enough to squeak by with a moderately painful sunburn. Today had looked promising. The sky had been thick with clouds that morning and the senior had thought maybe today he'd feel less like a cheap horror movie villain for once. So, taking his own wellbeing into his hands, Bryn forewent the usual protective layers and UV-blocking umbrella that were a near constant part of his daily attire. If it was going to be this cloudy all day; and the weather forecast said that it was; he could probably get away with 90 SPF sunscreen and long sleeves. And maybe an umbrella of the usual, water-repellant sort since the sky looked ominously dark. A torrential downpour, he figured, was almost unavoidable. When he made it from the dorms to the school building, Bryn made the mistake of thinking this would be a lucky day. When classes were over and the ground wet with fallen rain and the clouds still thick and heavy, he made the even bigger mistake of testing his luck. Instead of returning directly to his room; the one with blackout curtains on the windows for his own safety; he headed down to the arcade in the rec building. He'd borrowed a movie from the library and watching it on his laptop would be a bit less than awe inspiring. Maybe anyone else killing time in the arcade wouldn't mind watching it with him, or at least not mind having it on in the background. There were a number of problems that arose almost at once. Firstly, the DVD was not in his backpack as Bryn had thought it was. Then, when he considered heading back to his dorm to get it and bring it back to the arcade, he made it to the doorway of the rec building only to realize not only had the sun broken through the clouds quite dazzlingly, but he had no umbrella. Even the lighter weight umbrella for a rain shower would provide some protection from the sun. That, unfortunately, was very probably in a classroom under the desk he had been sitting at. Returning to the bowels of the building, Bryn curled up in one of the comfortable chairs in the home theatre portion of the arcade and let out a long sigh. He just couldn't win for losing, could he? 「 We met in a dream 」This flower says that 「 it's a joke 」 「D o e s n o t e x i s t」 Y o u w e r e n e v e r h e r e a t a l l

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]Rain, rain go away… come again another day…. [break][break] Rain water splattered against her soles as tiny droplets continuously dropped from the sky. Rain always calmed her down. It soothed the raging cries calling for excitement within her blood that made her repeatedly antsy for the last couple of hours. Restlessly, the child shook her head. Wondering if there was ever a time she didn’t feel like boredom was going to ensnare her if she turned her back to it. It happened ever since grandfather sent her here. At her own behest, to a school knowingly she’d be limited in what she’s normally used to. [break][break]
That was the point really, she wanted the challenge. Understanding her mindset long ago proved futile when it came to the young child’s way of thinking. A few droplets fell down her cheeks. Acting like a tear she’d never be able to shed. Instinctively the girl wiped it away as she skipped onto another puddle. Splashing the water onto the wet earth and onto her dark coloured rain boots. She didn’t have an umbrella on her, aside from her uniform which was slowly starting to get soaked from the continuous onslaught by the rain. The child didn’t look like she cared though. In fact she pretended to be oblivious to it. No sane person would be caught dead out in this weather. In fact she hadnt seen a single soul outside yet. She took a chance to stare up at the skies. Grey mixed in with the once blue clouds now covering herding away the pretty blues. Thunder… was missing and so was lightning. But light showers normally didn’t include it which of course disappointed the blonde to no end. Now that wasn’t fun… [break][break] Where was the excitement? She had none. A sigh left her lips, skipping today’s lesson by pretending to be ill proved to be more boring than actually attending literature class. Oh well. She shrugged. Adding a mental note to read up on it later if only to soothe their teacher’s irritation come next class. Playing in puddles soon lost in flare as the child casually strolled back to the pathway. Winds blew past her chilling her damned flesh with an icy touch. She hadnt even checked how many degrees it was outside. Judging from the chill she figured it to be around 9 degrees at the very least. She wandered through the grounds, allowing her feet to take her where it felt like it wanted to do as her mind mulled over her list of things to do. She had none, other than checking on dear uncle if he got her anything from his trip to Spain. How she missed those homemade toffees she got from Madrid last year. A grin crossed her lips at the memory, speaking of sweets another mental note got added in her list. She forgot she needed to soon replenish her supply. [break][break] “What to do…what to do..” She hummed musing a soft tune. The halls were empty, devoid of the usually bustle of people. She doubted anyone would go to the arcade at this time. Which was where she found her feet leading her. An eyebrow rose as she stared ahead, wondering what she could do there. She didn’t have any of her usual gadgets aside from her phone. And there wasn’t anything of interest there last time she checked. But she shrugged. If this was where her feet wanted to go. So be it. Finding something to do shouldn’t be too hard for the likes of her. The girl thought, confident enough she can find a way to combat her boredom. Water dripped from her clothing as she walked inside, her uniform clinging to her skin as if a second covering as she slipped into one of the rooms. The first the girl spotted was the figure huddled by one of the chairs. The distinct purple hued of his hair immediately caught her attention. She was bored anyway. She was sure luck was giving her a fine specimen to help alleviate it. With that in thought she quietly made her approach, using her own steps to mask her sound as she had been thought. She managed to sneak close behind him with the same silence of a prowling feline. Once she was behind the couch however she made her move by wrapping her arms around his neck casually. “Aww little child silting all alone?”

Vanishing like the sparks that burst and fly away

Well shit... Bryn's options were pretty limited right about now. He could go make himself sick, by bearing the sunlight to go back to his room and/or retrieve his rain umbrella from the classroom, or he could stay here until dark. Unfortunately for him, it was spring and that meant sunset came later and later each day. By now, sunset wouldn't come until after dinner had ended for sure. If he was especially unlucky he'd be cutting the curfew time limit awfully tight. He was a goddamned idiot, that's what the problem was. An idiot and a waste of perfectly good oxygen. The thought weighed heavily on the boy, leaving him feeling useless and pathetic at absolute best. It was a shame his double dying hadn't killed him for good. That would have solved all his problems quite nicely, after all. But such was not his luck. It looked like he had some more suffering left to live through. What a depressing thought... It was wrapped in this malaise of misery that Bryn failed to notice the rather sodden blonde who had entered the arcade. His blue eyes, mostly obscured by the fringe of bangs, were fixed unseeing on a point in the air about a meter out from the nearest wall. So it was with a lightening bolt of pure terror that he reacted to cool arms wrapping delicately around his neck. Adrenaline spiked through him and he lurched forward, a strangled yell trapped behind clenched teeth. Heart thundering within his chest, he froze. He was hyperaware of everything in that moment. The person behind him- a girl, probably- was wet with what was likely rain. She smelled like rain, anyway, and her own personal scent that could never be washed away. The arms less than a fingersbreadth from his own quivering fingertips seemed delicate enough but Bryn could more than feel the steely strength in them as the pulse in his neck beat rapidly against her. Mouth dry with panic, he manage to choke out, "What- what do you want?"「 We met in a dream 」This flower says that 「 it's a joke 」 「D o e s n o t e x i s t」 Y o u w e r e n e v e r h e r e a t a l l

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]Amusing, oh so amusing… Rayne’s lips threatened to break into a smirk. His reactions was most amusing to her. The corner of her mouth dared to curl upwards until she paused it. Pushing down the almost instinctive urge to follow through with that smirk. No, that wouldn’t do for now to allow him to see how she found his reaction amusing. She could sense how much his body stiffened under her grip. The way his skin just froze, muscles tensed underneath it. He was such a skittish being. Seeing him this way reminded her of a cornered mouse than anything. [break][break] The boy was just as… meek as one if what his own body language was betraying towards her. “Aww how come you’re so tense?” She purred, her soft tone caressing his ear as her breathe tickled against his skin. The girl had to fight hard to keep her face plastered towards a confused innocent expression rather than smirk outright which it wanted to do the moment she began her little game. [break][break] An actress needed to stay in character. She was now starring on her own play with this boy as her co actor. He now became an unwillingly participant within the proverbial play being acted upon for the world to see. ’So amusing… The thought echoed in her mind, uttering a mental chuckle from the chibified representation of her mindscape. A shark like grin spreading towards its tiny face. Like a cat who caught a canary between its claws she felt the exact same satisfaction from one. “Don’t tell me…” She forced a frown to cross her delicate childish mask, blue orbs widened slightly copying the look of an innocent child trying to guess a riddle and then figuring it out but finding the answer being something she didn’t want. “Don’t tell me your scared of little me senpai…” Her sentence ended sounded almost like a whine of a child having been told no for the first time in her life. [break][break] Fear leaked out of him, he reeked in it. It flowed from his body in sickening waves that drew the child closer. A kin to a light drawing in numerous moths the purple headed teen’s fear practically radiated off his form. Which only made her fight to keep in character. Gently she ran a finger down his neck, letting her hand run against his flesh. “Do I look like I’m scary?...” She asked softly. Her tone laced into the same innocence she long ago learned to imitate until her lips forced itself into a pout. Mirth sparkled between those sapphire orbs, threatening to draw him in should he look back. But he hadn’t so she was content to stay behind him, continuing her small ministrations on his skin. Water coming from her damped hair soaked into shoulders before she pulled back when she thought she scared him enough. Just not enough to end up suffering from seizure judging from how tense he was. [break][break] He’s probably one of those types who weren’t used to physical contact. The thought nearly made her frown. Pushing it back for later she hefted her form from the back of the couch to sit at the headrest. “Me?” She asked, gesturing a delicate hand over to her chest. “Why I just got curious why a senpai was all alone here when the rest of the student body are fleeing from the rain well more like sunlight in lets say…. Twenty minutes?” She counted, making a show of counting her figures until she settled her gaze back to him. “So dearest senpai, what’re you doing all in your lonesome?”

Vanishing like the sparks that burst and fly away

Truly, Bryn was entirely unused to physical contact. He had never had any friends of the tactile sort; he'd rarely even ever had someone to consider a friend, to be honest. His mother was loving but quiet and reserved and had showed her love with smiles and kind words and the occasional little treat when they had enough money. And is father? Hell, that man only touched Bryn to inflict pain on him; from beatings to raking his stubby nails over sun-inflamed flesh just to make his son suffer. Needless to say, Bryn didn't have very good memories associated with being touched; especially being touched out of the blue like this. It was no surprise that his reaction was one of fear. Fear, yes, but confusion in plenty as well. Senpai? His dark, feathery brows furrowed slightly, creating a faint crease between them as he tried to follow the girl's words. There was something odd about them that had nothing to do with the fact that his mind was slowed by the anxiety spiking. Something about that lilting voice sent warning sirens blaring in his head. Though, to be honest, just about everything made warning sirens go off in his head. And usually it was needless and utterly baseless. So instead of shoving the girl away, Bryn tried his best to dredge up a smile. It was uneasy and tight, but it was at least a smile. "Sorry," he managed to choke out. "You startled me, grabbing me like that." He nibbled slightly on the flesh just inside his lower lip; an anxious tick he had never broken himself of. Then, deciding not to ask about the senpai stuff he haltingly replied, "I can't... really be out in the sun. And I forgot my umbrella so I... kinda have to wait til dusk falls." He tensed, fully expecting some version of the same shit he'd always gotten about his photosensitivity. 「 We met in a dream 」This flower says that 「 it's a joke 」 「D o e s n o t e x i s t」 Y o u w e r e n e v e r h e r e a t a l l
